Baby Born With Extremely Muscular Chest And Arms (Photo)

Armani Milby, who is now nine-months-old, was delivered via an emergency C-section at 33 weeks.

A baby girl has been born with extremely muscular arms and chest.

According to doctors, Armani Milby, who is now nine-months-old, was delivered via an emergency C-section at 33 weeks after she was diagnosed with a severe form of lymphangioma, which causes benign growths in the lymph vessels.

Armani was born weighing 12lbs, three times more than the average-sized baby at that point in gestation due to the extremely rare congenital condition that left people thinking her mum was expecting triplets, as she tipped the scales at over 200lbs when pregnant.

Chelsey, 33, from Kentucky, US, found out that Armani had the condition after an ultrasound at the 17-week mark of the pregnancy and doctors were concerned over suspected fluid around her heart

Chelsey said: “I had never, ever, heard of the diagnosis before and honestly, I had looked into it, and I didn’t really like the results with some of the pictures.

“When I found out, to be honest, I was devastated, I was heartbroken. I didn’t understand what happened, what went wrong, because I had two other healthy babies, and I cried every day. Every day, I asked God why.

“We never considered an abortion even though it was mentioned to us almost immediately after it was discovered there were some major concerns with our unborn baby, but we just wanted to know how we could help her when she was born.

“They literally gave her a zero percent chance. They said she wouldn’t make it and that she probably wouldn’t be crying when she came out.”

Despite a disheartening prognosis from doctors, Chelsey always held hope for her unborn child and luckily for Armani, it’s thought her condition is treatable with surgery.

Once she had been born, Armani and her family were moved over 100 miles away to Cincinnati for three months in a specialist hospital where she began to make her recovery against the odds.

Now, Armani has been undergoing constant treatment to remove excess fluid from her body.

Armani is scheduled for surgery later this year where doctors would extract extra lymphatic vessels from her body which would help her body shrink down to the correct size and over the coming years, she would undergo surgery to remove the extra skin.

Another Disaster hovers as Asia China’s ‘batwoman’ scientist warns another ‘highly likely’ coronavirus outbreak in future: Report

China’s best-known virologists, Shi Zhengli, has warned that it is “highly likely" that another coronavirus outbreak will appear in future, a report in South China Morning Post

In a recent paper written with colleagues, Shi who is also popularly known as “batwoman," warned that the world must be prepared for another disease like Covid-19 because “if a coronavirus caused diseases to emerge before, there is a high chance it will cause future outbreaks," she said as quoted by the SCMP. Shi earned the nickname of ‘batwoman’ over her studies on viruses that spread from animals, particularly bats to humans

In the study, Shi’s team from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, assessed the likelihood of 40 coronavirus species spreading to humans, of which they rated half of them as “highly risky". As per the report, 6 are already known to have caused diseases that infected humans, moreover, evidence also suggested that three more of them caused disease or infected other animal species

The conducted study was based on the examination of viral traits which include size, genetic diversity, host species and prior zoonotic infections which means diseases that spread from animals to people.

“It is almost certain that there will be future disease emergence and it is highly likely a [coronavirus] disease again," the study warned as reported by SCPM.

According to the research, Shi and her colleagues also identified important hosts of the pathogen, including natural hosts like bats and rodents or potential intermediate hosts like camels, civets, pigs or pangolin, the report states

Meanwhile, the paper was published in July issue of the Journal Emerging Microbes & Infections in English, but it wasn't until this month that it received notice on Chinese social media. The late attention by Chinese can be due to partly due to the language, but a scientist from country’s Centres for Disease Control and Prevention claims that the lack of early Chinese attention also reflected a desire to move on from the topic following the abrupt change in China's zero-Covid rules.

“Sometimes in private conversations, when talking with other public health scholars, we have noticed that intentionally or unintentionally, Chinese authorities are downplaying Covid-19, and some cities have stopped releasing infection data," he said as quoted by SCM

Speaking about the study by Shi and her colleagues, the CDC scientist said, “Such studies are not regarded as groundbreaking or technically challenging and thus less valued in the field, but they are important," as quoted by the report.

Meanwhile, in the UK, healthcare professionals are now gearing up for a potential new pandemic known as "Disease X." They caution that this new virus could have a similar impact to the devastating Spanish Flu of 1918-1920. Health experts are sounding the alarm about "Disease X," a term coined by the World Health Organization. They warn that this potential new pandemic has the capacity to result in 20 times more fatalities than the coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020 and has tragically claimed the lives of over 2.5 million people worldwide. Here are the top 10 points about Disease X

Very Impressive as Penn State skips ahead of USC in updated AP Top 25

Penn State may not have made any movement in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 4, but the Nittany Lions finally made a move up in the fresh AP Top 25 on Sunday afternoon. Penn State climbed one spot in the latest AP poll following its dominant performance over Iowa on Saturday night, but it was the late-night struggles out west by USC that helped Penn State make a move up in the AP poll this week.

Penn State is now no. 6 in the AP Top 25 this week. They are the highest-ranked team in this week’s AP poll not to receive any first-place votes. Georgia continues to dominate the top spot with 55 first-place votes to solidify the no. 1 ranking. Michigan and Texas are no. 2 and no. 3, respectively, to hold their rankings from the previous week. Michigan received 1 first-place vote and Texas received 2.

No. 4 Ohio State follows after their big road win at no. 11 Notre Dame, who fell two spots this week. The Buckeyes received 1 first-place vote form the AP voters. Ohio State moved up two spots with their win and bumped no. 5 Florida State down a spot this week. The Seminoles avoided an upset with an overtime win at Clemson and retained 3 first-place votes in this week’s AP poll.

USC got away with a win on the road at Arizona State, but the style points came into play this time, and that benefitted Penn State compared to the Trojans. USC dropped three spots in the AP poll after having a difficult time taking care of lowly Arizona State. Penn State wasn’t the only team taking advantage of USC’s road woes. Washington also moved up a spot at USC’s expense. The Huskies moved up to no. 7, one spot behind Penn State.

Oregon and Utah each moved up one spot as the Irish stumbled to complete this week’s top 10. Oregon is no. 9 and Utah is no. 10.
